Because there
are no state or federal laws regulating the minimum
training an art appraiser should have, it is important to work with a
professional. Judy Nelson is an Accredited Member of the International
Society of Appraisers, a not-for-profit nationwide educational and
credentialing organization, which regularly trains and tests its
members.
How
it works
- We
inspect the work of art on-site,
photograph, measure and record information for a full condition report.
At that time we will give you an estimate of the time required to
complete the appraisal.
- After thorough research, we prepare
a report according to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal
Practice, which is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. This
formal appraisal includes two printed and bound copies of the finished
report.
- Fees: Initial on-site visit:
$125/hour or part thereof. Research and report preparation: $150/hour.
